Frantic, for the most part, is a straight VHS-to-DVD type of transfer.   It is full-screen only, with direct scene access by a text menu only.  The only menu options are scene access and play movie.  Video quality is perfectly acceptable, but noticeably less sharp than many of the remastered transfers and later DVDs.  Sound quality is clear, but unremarkable in plain Dolby Surround -- no surround channel was noticeable on my viewing.  Although the packaging states that there is English Closed Captioning, I was unable to get any to display.  Minimal extras and below average quality make this a purchase for the movie fan only.

Frantic is a Roman Polanski film which stars Harrison Ford as Dr. Richard Walker, a surgeon visiting Paris with his wife in order to speak at a medical conference.    Shortly after arriving in Paris, Mrs. Walker disappears suddenly from the Walker's hotel room.  Dr. Walker will soon come to suspect that his wife has been kidnapped and is being held in ransom for the contents of a suitcase, mistakenly picked up by Mrs. Walker.

While searching for any clues to his wife's whereabouts, Dr. Walker meets an alluring young French woman, Michelle, who, for her own reasons, teams up with Dr. Walker on the search for his wife.  A tense and suspenseful mystery unfolds as Dr. Walker franticly tries to find his wife.

All in all, Frantic is a very well done film.  A bit slow in some parts, it is never without an element of suspense with a bit of new information coming to the surface at each turn.
