Another example of a DVD worth waiting for, Ghostbusters is a high-quality DVD that is loaded with extras. A cool 3-D interactive/animated menu set which leads to animated scene selections, deleted scenes, production notes that play like subtitles during the movie, multiple featurettes and much, much more makes this a must-buy for any DVD collector.
Digitally remastered, the picture is very good with good clarity and excellent color. The audio has also been remastered with a 5.1 channel Dolby Digital mix. While good, the sound is fairly typical of a modern DVD. In addition to being of generally high quality, the extras are what make this disc such a strong recomendation. There are several hours of entertainment on this fine disc.

A trio of parapsychologists conduct research into the paranormal at a college until their funding is cancelled. Forced to become self sufficient, the three start a business as professional "ghostbusters", offering to rid client's of their ghost problems.
Their first client is Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver), who experiences an unusual situation in her kitchen. While Dr. Venkman (Bill Murray) works to attend to Ms. Barrett's situation personally, the team works to rid the city of its increasing ghost problem.
As the city's population of paranormals escalates, Ms. Barrett and her neighbor (Rick Moranis) are possessed by ancient entities and the city is pushed toward the brink of disaster. The city's only hope -- the Ghostbusters!
Ghostbusters is a modern-day classic, combining humor and a science fiction. Some ground-breaking special effects (for the mid-80s) combined with an all-star cast and a humorous and fresh storyline make this a movie to enjoy over and over again.
