A Few Photographs...

Okay, this page was last updated in 1996! These were my original photos that I put on the Net. You can find much more recent (and better) photos elsewhere in the site, like on my Travels and Adventures pages.

Here a few relatively interesting photographs that I've taken.

They aren't neccessarily the best photos, but they were available when I went to scan.

Here is a photo of a race during the "Children's Olympics" -- a day of motivating sporting events for children who live in University housing. I took it while in my photojournalism class at UF. It was chosen as the best photo in the class for the final assignment. Click on the image to see a larger JPEG. (Kodak Tri-X 400, 50mm lens)

Here are some manatee photos that I took with one of those water-tight disposable Kodak cameras during the summer of 1993.

Here is a side shot of a manatee off the coast of Key Largo, FL. Notice the scars on its back where a boat's propeller has hit it. This manatee is about 8-9 feet long. Click on it to see a larger JPEG.

Here is a photo of a manatee eating a head of lettuce. Notice how it uses its flippers to hold the lettuce so it doesn't float away. Click on it to see a larger JPEG.

Here is a manatee up CLOSE and personal. Click on it to get even closer!

Aiiieee! That's one UGLY manatee! Oh, wait -- the manatee is in the background.

And here are a few more interesting photos taken, oddly enough, with another of those disposable Kodak cameras. Taken between the summer of 1995 and the spring of 1996.

Here is a nice shot of an Angel fish, taken in about 17 feet of water, over a coral reef, two miles off the coast of Key Largo, FL.

This is an unusual shot of a Moray eel -- unusual because they usually keep their body hidden in the reef, leaving only their head (and sharp, pointy teeth) to be seen. Taken in about 10 feet of water.

Speaking of sharp, pointy teeth, here is a good buddy who was kind enough to follow me and my friend, Guy, around for our entire snorkeling trip. This Baracuda was about four feet long and stayed within a dozen feet of us for about an hour.

If that last shot wasn't close enough, here you go. Don't stick your hand to close, he's still hungry!

Here is a photo I took with the same camera as the above pictures of a Bison, at Paynes Prarie in Gainesville, Florida. The prarie is a sanctuary for this small herd of nine bison.

And a shot of a single bison -- very large animals.

If you wish to download any of my pictures for your personal viewing pleasure, feel free. If, however, you wish to post, publish or alter them in any way, please send me some e-mail first. I probably won't care what you do with them, but I would like to know what you've done with my photos and were you have done it.
